Where do I even begin?!? The beginning you say? Okay you talked me into it!
DISCLAIMER: This post is LOADED with pictures. I did my best to condense them so you don’t take 50 years scrolling through but your brain could overload…just sayin.
Laryssa and I bright and early Wednesday morning at 3 A.M.! Okay so there was really nothing bright about it but it certainly was early. In fact it didn’t get bright till we had already been on the road almost 3 hours. The drive up took almost exactly 12 hours and consisted of not delightful singing (or noise is what normal people probably call it) Donuts, Mt. Dew, Chocolate Milk, Jones Soda, and songs like Elephant Love Medley from Moulin Rouge, Bohemian Rhapsody, and I’m Henry the 8th I am…nice huh? Don’t worry we threw in some normal songs like Rihanna's Shut up and Drive, Dashboard Confessional’s Stolen, One Republic’s Good Life, and other various awesomeness. Aren’t you jealous that you didn’t drive up with us now? Ya we’re cool like that. To sum up the road trip into pictures, it would be this…the collage of Instagram pictures taken during those long 12 hours
I don’t think it really needs much more explaining but I will say that I wasn’t kidding when I said that Laryssa can and does quote the movie The Grinch, and yes, she really did tie that cherry stem with her tongue while driving. Serious talent guys….serious.
We got up Wednesday night only to discover that our hotel for that night smelled so bad we could hardly breathe, the beds were hard as rock, oh and I forgot ALL my jewelry! Who does that?!? I had it all nice and packed in a Charming Charlies bag and then just left it…teach me to load the car up at 2:30a.m. Thanks to Eclectic Mamma who offered to make me 2 pairs of earrings. They were pretty awesome!
I was super excited and nervous for registration. I am not the most social of people and it was obvious on Twitter that so many fellow bloggers already had a relationship built with each other that made seeing each other so much more fun. That’s my goal though for next year. Get to know all you awesome bloggers so I can run up and hug you when I see you next year…not a hugger? Don’t worry, I’m cool with a handshake, a fist bump, or even a high 5 (or high 6 for those HIMYM fans out there, I know you exist) Thankfully though, we had several friendly people introduce themselves and I even got up some courage now and then to introduce myself to others (probably not enough though)
The classes were amazing. We learned so much in every single class. I wish I could just remember every little thing that was said and then share it with you but let’s get real, that would be CRAZY long! Maybe I’ll share a little tidbit in each one of my posts for a while? Yes, No, Maybe So?
I will tell you that the women involved in the panels were absolutely the best choices the team could have made. They were funny, insightful, helpful, friendly, and just all around awesome.
I was horrible at taking pictures during the conference. I got good ones of scenery but other than that I get a big fat THUMBS DOWN, a FFF-, and after this post is done, I will send myself to timeout.
Enjoy the ones I did get though. These were just a few of the awesome things at SNAP. Fantastic sponsors…do you see all that swag in the bottom right corner…ya we all got that, wowzas right? My jaw kinda dropped when they gave it to us. The food, both lunch and dinner were SO SO SO delicious! And of course, we can’t just not mention how fantastic the Queen Bee Market was. AMAZING TALENT OVERLOAD! So many things to choose from+not enough money= the hardest decisions that I wouldn’t wish on ANYONE! Note to self…bring lots and lots of extra money next time just in case. I need to start saving money now.Now let’s take a quick detour to the scenery. HMMM, maybe I’ll just show you pictures since words can’t do it justice. I’m sure my pictures won’t do it justice either but you’ll get the idea. Utah’s scenery makes me want to move up there…then the roads drive me crazy and I grow a new appreciation for Arizona.
Here is the scenery of around our venue at Thanksgiving Point.Beautiful, isn’t it? Next we’ll visit the Tulip Festival…Mom, I’m sorry you couldn’t be there. I should have brought you with us. I could have dropped you off at the Tulip Festival on Thursday and picked you up on Sunday…that still wouldn’t have been enough time for you. OH.MY.HECK. It’s just so gorgeous! The Tulip Festival was so much larger than we could have anticipated and so we didn’t get nearly enough time there.I am seriously considering making it a tradition to go up to the Tulip Festival each year. Isn’t it just breathtaking? I would love an entire day to just go and take pictures.
The whole experience was just incredible I (we) learned SO much, ate good food, met amazing talented women, oh and our 2nd hotel was HEAVEN! I miss that bed terribly…
All of this would not have been possible if it weren’t for the most amazing SNAP team and I want to give a HUGE THANK YOU. To all those who made it possible. In a nutshell… SNAP was LEGEN…wait for it…DARY! LEGENDARY!Can’t wait to see everyone next year…let the countdown begin!
Wow. What a trip! I am so glad that you were able to join us at SNAP! this year. What a fun time and wasn't the setting gorgeous?! I love Thanksgiving Point. It's hard to believe, but we're already busy working on next year!

ReplyDeleteTauni that makes me SO SO SO happy to hear! And seriously, if you need ANY help for next year, let me know. I'd love to help anyway I can. It was such a great experience and you and the team hit it out of the park. BTW, hope you don't mind that I stole your picture for our Work on You Wednesday post... I gave credit though so it's all good, right?
ReplyDeleteChar you did so much for the conference I'm sure you were running around like crazy helping everything run smoothly. I totally missed out on meeting you though...huge bummer for me! Next year?
