Yesterday I sat down to figure out this weeks menu and then I realized...I don't have to plan a menu for this week. This is the dreaded week. It's the week that Mr. awesome takes the Bar Exam. Monday afternoon we will head into Phoenix and check him in for the exam. Then we will head out to dinner and go to our hotel to hopefully crash early. We'll be in Phoenix for Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Thursday I would love to go out on a date with my finally free husband. That means that the only meals I might have to plan are for Friday and Saturday. I guess it will be a nice break from cooking but it will sure test my ability to be able stay under my calorie count. Do you have any tips on eating out and still eating healthy? How about any tips on how to keep your mind from going crazy as you wonder how your husband is doing as he takes the most important test of his life. Maybe I'll take up nail biting or hair pulling. That sounds reasonable right? Oh man, the next 3 says will be stressful. If you have any extra positive thoughts, send them our way please :)

Glitter Academy Recap
Last night Jen and I got all dolled up in our trendiest red clothing, threw on our heals and added a little ( or a lot in my case) of red lipstick and headed for Glitter Academy!
SIDE NOTE! On the way there I was lucky enough to somehow tear my tights... Bad. It was fun having to find a totally random place to stop to look for replacements and then proceed to change my pregnant behind in Jens car while she watched me squirm... Good times... Not.
The whole thing was sponsored by Cricut and some other great companies. We started with some yummy Mexican food from Macayos, followed by some exciting games and giveaways! Next we made a fun craft bag using Cricuts newest iron on glitter transfers. Of course we got some great swag!! Glitter, transfer paper, ribbon, shirts and scrap booking stickers! I think my favorite part was the amazing desserts, red velvet cake balls, key lime cupcakes, and chocolates! Mmmm be jealous! All in all we had a fun night! Can't wait for next year!

5 amazing things to do with Nutella!
It is no secret that I love Nutella. I think it is a gift from the heavens themselves.
Here are five ways to glam it up!
1. Add to your brownie, cake or cookie batter!
2. Freeze on a spoon and use said spoon to stir your hot chocolate. Mmmm
3. Heat it up and add to a hot fudge sundae
4. Dip strawberries in them! Gives a little twist.
5. Eat it on a rainy day...So good to take a little spoonful and grab a sweet on the go.
Enjoy!

Holy Weather!
I have barely been able to access the internet to get a post up and I think the culprit is this.
I stole the pictures from my Mom’s Facebook page. Thanks Mom.
We’ve had some serious weather day today that has ranged from rain to hail to sleet and snow. It has been CUH-RAZY! It seems to have effected the internet, phones, etc. Fun right?
Had to share! This NEVER happens here.

Sometimes I'm so spoiled...
For Christmas my mother got me an amazing gift! Drumroll please..... A NEW CAMERA!!!! She gave it to Nick and I actually but he doesn't need to know that he has rights to it too. Who knows what might happen if he got ahold of it. Scary thought. Anyways, she got me a canon rebel t3i which is a HUGE improvement from what I was using... trust me you don't even want to know. So with my new camera I was given the opportunity to take pictures of my good friends new baby boy, Parker! It was great! (Much harder than I thought to take newborn shots) but I am so excited to show you some great pictures! They are on their way!!

Progress Is The Best Motivation
The biggest motivation that I’ve had on this get healthy challenge is seeing results. I can read inspirational posts and quotes all day long and sure, they help with some motivation, but nothing motivates me more than seeing the positive results of all my efforts.
Results are not just a number on a scale. Yes, it’s nice to see a lower number, week after week but it’s not all that matters. I recently had my 3 month appointment at the doctors and the appointment went really well. I exceeded the doctors expectations which is always great. Not only did the progress show in the weight loss and numbers in the blood work levels, it shows with how I feel. I have more energy and overall just feel better and that is a great motivator to continue.
At the beginning of the year, Jan. 7th to be exact, I took my measurements so I could keep track of inches lost as well as pounds. Just for fun today, I decided to re-measure. I was just curious to see any slight progress I might be making. I was very pleasantly surprised and couldn’t contain my excitement so I just had to share!
So far I’ve lost a total of 18 pounds and 18.75 inches, including but not limited to, 2 inches from my waist, 3 inches from my hips, 7 inches from my legs, and 3.5 inches from my arms.
I can’t wait to see how the measurements read next month.
And just in case you love the motivational quotes, here is a printable of one of my favorites that I found.
Such a true statement.

Shout out to my Momma!
For years my Mother has been making homemade soaps and when I was a kid I thought she was so weird. But now, as an adult... I am totally jealous. I want, no...make that NEED her to teach me how! She is constantly coming up with these amazing, unique crazy scents that are so cool! One of her most recent "out there" scents is a creamy avocado soap with coconut oil and flakes for exfoliating texture. It rocks! And is surprisingly refreshing for dry skin! I think Jen and I should master soap making so we can share with you guys! Here is a soap care package that she sent me. Thanks Ma!

Weekly Menu
I can’t believe it’s Saturday again! Where did the week go? I feel like I just put together my weekly menu and grocery list for last week and it’s already time to do it again.
This week I’m trying a lot of new recipes from Skinnytaste.com If you have checked out her site, you totally should. Her recipes haven’t failed me yet! I also like that so far, I’ve been able to find them on My Fitness Pal to put in the calories.
This week we are having:
Sunday-Tacos at families (It’s family dinner Sunday and funny enough, both our families will be enjoying Tacos)
Monday- Sloppy Joes with Baked Onion Rings (Our Sloppy Joes got pushed back from last week due to an unexpected Belated Birthday Dinner with Laryssa and her Hubs.)
Tuesday- Broccoli & Cheese Stuffed Chicken with Asparagus & Rice
Wednesday- Cheesy Zucchini Enchiladas
Thursday- Spinach Manicotti (I might change this…not set on it yet)
Friday- Free Day (Just in case I don’t feel like cooking!)
Saturday- Grilled Chicken & Spinach Salad (Gotta have our salad day)
I have a few healthy desserts in mind that I’d like to try. I’ll post any of the successes. BTW, the lighter Texas Sheet Cake that we made….DELICIOUS!!!! You can find the recipe here.

Chore Chart Printables
The other day, I mentioned that I have a chore chart so today I thought I would share it with you, along with a couple printables that you can download, frame and use a dry erase marker to fill it in.
I love my chore chart! I don’t ALWAYS complete the list but I do try my best. Having the chart breaks down the chores into small sections that don’t require a lot of time and therefore, makes keeping a clean house, a lot less stressful.
First I’ll share what my chore chart looks like.
Mine incorporates the colors in my dining room, the goldish yellow, turquoise, and dark purple. I have 4 set tasks to complete each day.
1. Make the bed (I’m the worst at this one!)
2. Sort the incoming mail. This way it doesn’t pile up on the table, in the office, or on the buffet.
3. Wipe down kitchen. I’ve been making a huge effort to clean while I cook. It makes the biggest difference! I can enjoy my dinner knowing that all I have to do afterwards it put a few dishes in the dishwasher.
4. Dishes. It makes my heart happy to go to bed with a clean kitchen and the dishes put away or put in the washer. Helps me sleep like a baby.
I divided other chores throughout the week. Doing smaller chores throughout the week helps to make cleaning not such an overwhelming task and helps to keep it more organized.
I’m blessed to have a husband who is so willing to help out (when he isn’t studying for school or the Bar exam) He’ll help out with dishes and mow the lawn and clean the bathroom every now and then. I tell him that it specifically states in our marriage license that his responsibilities are taking out the trash & recycle, killing all bugs, and mowing the lawn. He says he has no recollection of such an agreement but does it none the less. Swooon, isn’t he dreamy?!?
Saturday is the “heavy” chore day with yard work and 1 room deep clean on the schedule. Our deep cleaning includes cleaning the windows, baseboards, fans, appliances, any needed organization, and a good vacuum and dusting (furniture polish if needed) If the rooms are kept clean on a regular basis than the deep cleaning doesn’t take too much time.
Now for the free printables. I left them blank so you can frame them and then use a dry erase marker to fill them in.
I love the quotes at the top and bottom. Mr. Awesome makes marriage so fun and fairly easy that housework really is my hardest task. The quote on the bottom is inspired by my mother who, growing up, would always tell me that if I just picked up things and put them away as I used them, I wouldn’t have much to clean. Wow, it’s like I can hear her voice as I write that. I didn’t exactly take her advice growing up, it was just too much fun to drive her crazy. As an adult though, you often realize how many times your mother was right. Just try not to tell them that too often, they’ll get a big head :)
Happy Cleaning!
