DIY Tropical Facial Scrub

Today I am sharing our June’s Smitten By Post with you! The theme for June was Summer and Body Image. There are some AMAZING and inspiration posts up so if you didn’t get a chance to get over there, you should do that after you read this.
I have been wanting to get a facial done for so long but just can’t bring myself to spend the money so of course, the obvious solution was to recruit Laryssa and DIY it. There are so many different kinds of facials out there, each have a different purpose. Ours serves the purpose of refreshing our faces and is a great exfoliate. I’ll give you a hint as to why we chose to do this particular scrub. 115 degree summers! Nuff said? I did NOT want some hot scrub with a hot towel covering my face. I want something that will be cool and refreshing. This one certainly did the trick. Today we are making…SONY DSC
Just the name makes me feel refreshed! Now let’s get our ingredients together. You will need:SONY DSC1Tbsp-Baking Soda (exfoliates and is believed to help with acne)
2 Cups-Sugar (exfoliates)
1 Small Lemon- Squeeze approximately 1 Tbsp (brighten & even skin tone, provides good vitamins)
1 Orange- Squeeze approximately 1 Tbsp (brighten & even skin tone, provides good vitamins)
2 Tbsp Honey (soothes irritation and attracts moisture)
1/4 Cup- Pineapple Juice (helps in anti aging)
Mix all your ingredients togetherSONY DSCSONY DSCSONY DSCSONY DSCIt should be thick and grainy. If you think it is too runny, just add some more sugar, it will thicken right up. SONY DSCIt even looks refreshing (and delicious according to Laryssa…who I had to restrain from eating it!)
We are also going to give you a simple lip scrub to go along with this. For the lip scrub you will need.SONY DSC1 Tbsp- Sugar
1/2 Tsp- Honey
1/2 Tsp- Vaseline
Tiny squeeze of Orange Juice
Mix it all together.SONY DSCNow comes the fun part of applying it. Get your face wet first and then scrub it on. SONY DSCYa, we’re pretty hot and we know it! Ha!SONY DSCYou probably never want to look at your computer screen ever again right? Sorry to scare you!
You can let it sit for a few minutes and then wash it off. Our skin felt totally refreshed, bright, soft, and beautified, not to mention we had some seriously soft lips. SONY DSCYou know we love you when we willingly put these pictures up for the world to see!
Hopefully you feel as refreshed as we did with our Tropical Facial Scrub and Lip Scrub.SONY DSC
