A Vintage Affair-Laryssa’s Bridal Shower

So I thought I would FINALLY get around to sharing pictures from Laryssa’s bridal shower. I shared the individual project tutorials but never the pictures of everything together so here it goes. It will probably be picture overload so I apologize in advance.
Laryssa liked the idea of a “tea party” in which she meant “cute little finger foods” but heck, I expanded that thought like popcorn in the microwave!
Let’s start with the invitations…LBSI2cropped
I loved the invitations. Purple damask and lace…they were beautiful! Okay okay! So I designed them which means I’m a little biased but hey, whatcha gonna do? BTW, if you like the invite, you can find it in my Etsy shop here.
The shower was held in my backyard. The guests entered through the gate and were greeted with thisSONY DSCand a black iron bench on the opposite side for the guests to drop off their gifts.
A close up of the wreath I made from lace and fabric flowers, complete with pearls, of course.SONY DSCA place for the guests to drop their cards.SONY DSCNext are the tables.SONY DSCThe tables were simple. Draped in a dark purple tablecloth, vintage lunch trays at each sitting, and a centerpiece that consisted of one of our grandmothers doilies and either an adorable pitcher, or ivy vases filled with beautiful flowers.SONY DSCSONY DSCSONY DSCThe luncheon plates were either my moms or were found at Goodwill on 50% off days for around $1-$1.50 a piece.SONY DSCSONY DSCSONY DSCSONY DSCNow onto the food. The food sat on tables in front of the pipe and drape that we made. The menu was written on these painted chalkboard trays.SONY DSCSONY DSCSONY DSCSONY DSCAnd I failed to get a picture of the rest of the food like the chicken salad sandwiches before they were devoured. Don’t those cupcakes look delish! Ya they totally were! I was a horrible matron of honor and made Laryssa bake her own cupcakes…what can I say, they are just that good.
We had lots of pictures of the happy couple all around.SONY DSCLove that frame? HomeGoods!SONY DSCWe played the He Said She Said game and got some fun insight into the happy couples relationship.SONY DSCOverall, we had a blast and in the meantime…SONY DSC Mr. Awesome and Dad were gems and cleaning ALL the OH SO MANY dishes, inside. Such a great cleaning crew!
So there it is! I finally got around to sharing. Better late than never right?
